Our Story

 Toronto Bee Rescue is a family business operated by Peter Chorabik and Sarah Allinson-Chorabik. Inspired by 3 generations of hobby beekeepers in Peter’s family, we decided to carry on the tradition. Beginning with just 2 hives in 2012, we never imagined we would be where we are today. Today, we manage over 600 hives across the GTA.

Toronto Bee Rescue was created early in our beekeeping career. We began by posting an ad to a classified site advertising the free removal of honeybee swarms and the requests began pouring in. We realized that there was a need for humane honeybee relocation services and Toronto Bee Rescue was born. 

Expanding beyond swarm removals, we began offering the relocation of established honeybee colonies, hive sharing, and hive hosting programs. Driven by our love for honeybees and the essential role they play in our environment, we became determined to protect and support the honeybee population in Toronto. 

As we continued to expand our operations, we soon ran out of friends and family to give our honey to. It was at this point, in 2015, when we opened Ontario Honey Creations. 

With both of us leaving corporate life behind, our passion for beekeeping began turning into a career. With both companies working together, Peter manages Toronto Bee Rescue and the beekeeping aspect of it all while Sarah manages Ontario Honey Creations. 

In 2022 we opened our on-farm store in Mulmur, Ontario for Ontario Honey Creations, inviting you all to our family farm to shop our large collection of honey products and to meet our adorable KuneKune pigs.
